Vasil Barbov is a partner at Ivanov and Partners and head of the firm’s Sofiaoffice, where he leads the real estate, construction and tax practices. Withmore than a decade’s experience representing local and internationalclients, his areas of practice include corporate law, real estate andconstruction, tax law, dispute resolution, and administrative law.

Real Estate & Construction
Vasil works with construction contractors, property management companies, real estateinvestors, developers, luxury hotel complexes and high-net-worth individuals.
Skilled in spatial planning law, he advises on land status, valuation and taxation, urbanplanning, and drafts and negotiates agreements in relation to real estate developmentsand construction in Bulgaria.
He also represents real estate clients in commercial transactions, debt recovery andownership disputes, employment law and in administrative law matters such as obtainingplanning permission.
Vasil has gained recognition in the Legal 500 EMEA as a member of Ivanov & Partners’dispute resolution team, which is noted for its work in construction disputes.
Tax Law and Accounting
Vasil is the head of Ivanov & Partners’ tax law and accounting practice, advisingindividuals, small and medium enterprises and large corporations on commercialtransactions, corporate income tax, VAT, local taxes, and in tax disputes.
Administrative Law and Procedure
Vasil has considerable experience in administrative law and procedure advising all types ofbusinesses on the processes required to obtain government permissions. He also assistsclients with appeals and challenges to government agency decisions.
